Early Years Education

Once a child reaches a certain pre-school age they become entitled to government money to attend several weekly Nursery Education classes. This is known as the Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE). To find out more about this scheme contact The Childcare Information Helpline on 0800 2346 346.

This education is referred to as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and children complete their last year of this stage during their first year at Primary School (Reception Class).

The EYFS areas of learning aim to recognisie that every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self- assured. The commitments are focused around development; inclusion; safety; and health and well-being.
